\"BonWent to the City of Manchester Stadium on Sunday night to watch Bon Jovi<\/a> in concert with my friend Lindsay. I’ve seen them three times before, but that was in my “youth”.
\nThey were supported by Nickelback<\/a> but to be honest, I didn’t care too much for them, many of there songs seem to keep the same formula to me.
\nWell, Bon Jovi were fab… they were on stage for 2 hrs 45 minutes and it was a brilliant set list. Covered most of the old regulars and many newer tracks too. When I say newer I mean off the albums Crush<\/a>, Bounce<\/a>, and Have a Nice Day<\/a> – as these are albums that I don’t seem to have gotten round to buying. The show was upbeat and lively and fantastically entertaining.<\/p>\n

Listening to 60,000 fans singing “Livin’ on Prayer” was something else and from where we were stood we could see the light of thousands of phone screens as people tried to take pictures or record a movie… it’s kind of a reverse lighter moment that the band would normally see.<\/p>\n

Jon still has it… his voice was fantastic live… there were a few alterations in songs due to not being able to hit the high notes; most notably on Runaway. But I think you can forgive him that! \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

It was fantastic to hear Dry County played live, and very odd to hear them singing Rockin’ All Ocver the World and Shout – but actually pretty darned great! I was very suprised that they didn’t play anything off These Days, having said that I do think of it as a more serious album.<\/p>\n

I was also suprised at the diversity of fans. I just figured we were now in the territory of 30+ year olds like me, but there seemed to be a lot of new young blood.<\/p>\n

The organisation was fantastic too. From the moment the concert ended it took about 15 minutes to get out of the stadium, into the car, out of the car park, and on down the road. It’s taken many hours to do the same at other concerts I’ve been too. The police seemed to really have control of the roads.<\/p>\n

Well I was a little tired, my Vocal Chords took a bashing, my feet were sore from all that jumping up and down, and I’m sure I smoked about 40 fags because of the couple in front of us… but I had a great time.<\/p>\n
