It&#8217;s easy to set the address of the proxy by selecting<br \/>\n<i>Preferences:Advanced:Proxies &#8211; Change Settings<\/i><\/p>\n<p>The first time you do this, Safari will ask you for a username and<br \/>\npassword so that it can authenticate your connection. If you select<br \/>\n&#8220;remember password&#8221; it will NEVER ask you for this again. I use the word<br \/>\nNEVER hear loosely &#8211; it might ask you, I just don&#8217;t know under what<br \/>\ncircumstances.<\/p>\n<p>So, if your password changes, Safari has the wrong password and will be<br \/>\nunable to connect.<\/p>\n<p>If you uninstall Safari and Reinstall it&#8230; the problem remains.<\/p>\n<p>The Solutions is: Delete the <b>keychain.plist<\/b> file from the directory<\/p>\n<p><i>C:\\Documents and Settings\\[username]\\Application Data\\Apple<br \/>\nComputer\\Preferences<\/i><\/p>\n<p>This is under XP, the directory will be different under Vista.<\/p>\n<p>Restart Safari and it will ask you for the authentication again.<\/p>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/technorati.com\/tags\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.icemark.com\/blog\/wp-images\/technorati_small.gif\" width=\"16\" height=\"15\" alt=\"Technorati\"\/><\/a> <a target=\"_blank\" alt=\"Apple\" title=\"Apple\" href=\"http:\/\/technorati.com\/tag\/Apple\" rel=\"tag\" >Apple<\/a>, <a target=\"_blank\" alt=\"Bug\" title=\"Bug\" href=\"http:\/\/technorati.com\/tag\/Bug\" rel=\"tag\" >Bug<\/a>, <a target=\"_blank\" alt=\"Safari\" title=\"Safari\" href=\"http:\/\/technorati.com\/tag\/Safari\" rel=\"tag\" >Safari<\/a>, <a target=\"_blank\" alt=\"Windows\" title=\"Windows\" href=\"http:\/\/technorati.com\/tag\/Windows\" rel=\"tag\" >Windows<\/a>, <a target=\"_blank\" alt=\"Proxy\" title=\"Proxy\" href=\"http:\/\/technorati.com\/tag\/Proxy\" rel=\"tag\" >Proxy<\/a>, <a target=\"_blank\" alt=\"Password\" title=\"Password\" href=\"http:\/\/technorati.com\/tag\/Password\" rel=\"tag\" >Password<\/a>, <a target=\"_blank\" alt=\"Authentication\" title=\"Authentication\" href=\"http:\/\/technorati.com\/tag\/Authentication\" rel=\"tag\" >Authentication<\/a><br\/>\n<h3 class='related_post_title'>Related Posts:<\/h3><ul class='related_post'><li>No Related Posts<\/li><\/ul>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Safari Not Asking For Proxy Password Dull posting here, but I decided to post it in order to record a technical problem and solution for an issue I recently had with Safari.
