Gob was written using an adventure development kit called PAW (Professional Adventure Writer), produced by Gilsoft. It was an extended version of their earlier product The Quill. Someone has written a Short History of The Quill and PAW.
J. Elliott wrote a program to extract the information from adventures created with The Quill. It is called unquill.
Unfortunately, it can't deal with PAW files, so I've attempted to reverse
engineer the PAW in-memory database. I've haven't finished, but this might be of
use to someone. Someday I may write a program, unpaw, to extract
the information automatically.
NEW (2002): Looks like some other people have attempted similar projects. Check out "unpaws" and "WinPaw" at the if-archive.
