Nivea have a range of adverts for their mens products running on the radio at the moment. I heard one this morning that tickled me so I thought I’d mention it here and give them a few minutes of free ad time on my blog!

In the background you can here the sound of a ZX Spectrum loading a game. The voice over says “Does the sound of Manic Miner and Jet Set Willy loading, tingle your skin… then you need Nivea for Men…” blah blah blah.

The real scarey thing is; I know it wasn’t Manic Miner or Jet Set Willy that was loading - it sounded wrong!

Supermarkets have done a pretty good job with all the variations of milk. You can usually identify the different ’strengths’ with little effort. As a general rule being colourblind I’m against colour coding of any kind, but milk bottle tops doesn’t cause me a problem. Ok, some of the supermarkets use different colours, so you need to be careful which shop you bought your milk from but not really an issue. It’s a little like in ‘t old days when most people colour coded salt and vinegar crips in blue and cheese and onion in green, but one crisp maker did it the other way…
Anyway, my real beef is with Organic milk - what happened to colour coding? They all appear to have white tops… at home we have Full Fat milk for the kids, Semi Skimmed for me, and water (skimmed) for Victoria. Now when I open the fridge I just see a sea of white bottle tops and I have to read the label… jeesh! Ok, I can live with accidently using Full Fat but I might accidently pour water on my Shreddies…

Ok, I know that Google offer a lot of good services; they are my search engine of choice, things powered by Google Map like Fraprr.com. But I’m getting fed up with their Adsense stuff. I’m not sure who’s problem it is, Google or the person using them, but I am fed up with

them popping up in the most inappropriate places. Look, I’m never going to click on it - out of principal it will never happen! Do’t take up all the top of your page with Ads by Google an leave your content at the bottom - I will never get to your content because I will have left your site! As a rule I can cope with the sky scrapers at the side of the page as they are usually non obtrusive, but not in your content!!!!

Following on from the last post, here is another site that gives not only the single, but also the album that was #1 - and people born on that day.

I know these things do the rounds, but this past by me and I had to remind myself.

Well it seems that both Victoria and I must have comedy or novelty lives - because Grandad by Clive Dunn was #1 for me, and Chirpy Chirpy Cheep Cheep was #1 for Victoria.
