BT Vision

I got BT Vision over the festive period… actually I got it a week or so before but I didn’t get round to installing it until the holiday period.

I didn’t pay anything for it, I got it as part of my current Broadband Package. Basically one day a sales person from BT phoned up and said; “If you agree to sign up for another year to your broadband package, we will reduce the cost by £2 a month and thrown in this BT Vision thingy for you…”

No brainer really… apart from the fact that apparently I can’t recieve freeview and I need the BT Home Hub which I don’t use. Anyway, I decided to set it up anyway… plugged it into my router instead of the Home Hub, plugged it into the aerial… and off we go… all the Freeview channels with interactivity and recording and playback and…

The kids are happy because they now have proper access to CBeebies and CBBC!

So I finally moved closer to the world of Digital… but I kept my side of the bargain… I didn’t pay anything for it… didn’t even have to change the aerial as I expected to! I told you that they would need to make me move over!

Ice Skating

We took the kids to Marwell Zoo on Sunday. It was a pre-arranged visit where we were meeting up with the OB’s and taking all the kids Ice Skating and to Santas Grotto. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. The kids really liked the ice skating despite the amount of time then spent on their bottoms! 🙂 I thought that Santas Grotto was very good and value for money. The kids go in, in groups. You don’t get the usual 1-2-1 with santa, but it’s a much better story driven event. They also get chance to do some colouring and craft work.

I think the only thing going against Marwell for the whole experience is that, considering they are refurbishing the resteraunt but trying to drive more numbers through the park during the festive period, then maybe they need to pay more attention to the refreshments and in particular warm places to sit.

just a stone

just a stone

It might be just a stone to you
But it means the world to me
It represents my future, my hope, my aspirations
To you; just as waste of 75p
I know you might not understand
Why I need this shiny trinket of the deepest blue
It represents my past, my freedom, my independence
To you; another aggregate of minerals for me to lose

New school year

Rebekah started her new school today; she’s been so excited about moving up to the Juniors. Up and ready quickly this morning, which is not the norm! I can’t believe that three years of infants has zoomed past. The strangest thing about the new school ( aside the lead learner ) is that the uniform is blue. Now, my favourite colour is blue and those who know me will know that I also tend to that colour; yet Rebekah doesn’t suite blue! Red is her colour… just like the Infants uniform! Oh well…
