I’m currently reading Pat Conroy’s: The Prince of Tides I’m only a couple of hundred pages in but I’m really enjoying it. Much more like Beach Music and less like The Water is Wide. The only problem I have so far is with the character of Tom Wingo – Pat Conroy loves food, all his main characters love food, and they all talk about food in the same way – so even though his main characters are all different, they have moments when they start to sound the same – when talking about food… With Tom, this seems out of place with the rest of his characteristics.

I’m reading The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe to my daughter at night. I had it read to me when I was small and absolutely loved it. So as she is aware of Narnia because of the film (which I haven’t taken her to see) I thought she might enjoy it. However this is the first time I have actually read it. The thing is… it’s a lousy book! I don’t know how anyone can call Harry Potter when C S Lewis’ writing was so poor!
